It all began in 1998 when the 21-years old guitarist Andrej Carli met the younger drummer Marco Matietti. They got together with the intention of starting a band. Soon enough the bassist Damjan Krizmancic joined them...and the Charge was born!
In those days they rehearsed a few times a month and the band had a couple of concert around Triest and on the Karst plateau, playing their own material, but their sound wasn't mature and their love for different kinds of music severed the band, which split soon. After the coming of a second guitarist, Marjan Milic, and another 4-strings player, Francesco Bosich, the band's sound moved towards a defined style, which was alternative rock. They toured the local pubs and were asked to a local radio station, but after all that the line up changed subsequently to boredom and lack of motivation.

In 2000 the Charge used to play a heavier kind of rock influenced by the new entry, the bass player Luigi Presacco: the new material was a doomy rock, influenced by bands like Cathedral and Paradise Lost. After a year of concerting the needs of the band individually changed, so Luigi left the band. (As I take it, there was a bad timing, as we rocked heavier than ever before. The song such as Voodoo or Young men were pure Black Sabbath revival.)

After that, there was a long period of absence by the band from the local rock scene. The former members were busy with other projects, but after a year the band came back with Damjan playing the bass, once more, as in the very first period. The sound moved again on the alternative rock rails. A couple of concerts proved the musical mixture was working as never before.

Due to personal problems the band split again. In the meantime, Andrej recorded the rehearsal dark rock demo Narcotic Luxuria, which was sent out to all kinds of magazines, which praised it as a relevant work. Years passed by and the 1998 became part of an earlier decade: Andrej and Damjan decided to restart anew and called the drummer Dimitri Novak, but the new line up was still lacking a singer. After a couple of months the rock vocalist Mojmir Kokorovec joined the band.

In Summer 2007 Dimitri left the band. At the moment Luca S. plays drums and helps the band playing live on gigs.
